Opened September 23, 1949 as the Brielle Motor Vue Outdoor Theatre. It was operated by Independent Theater Service Inc. Jack Nicholson would hang out here during his teen years (early-1950’s). The circle for which it was named has even disappeared (intersection of Routes 34/35/70). The site is now owned by the NJDOT and is used to store materials. Physical address is Wall Township but current mailing address is Manasquan (probably Brielle during its operating years).

Could this have been one of the many Drive-ins that Walter Reade operated along the Jersey shore ??

The location for this drive-in was NJ 34 between NJ 35 and Lakewood Rd. Now an empty field, only the outline of the property remains.

Drive-in was intact in 1972, but demolished by 1979 at least by looking at aerial photos.

The ozoner appears to have closed after a double feature of “Love Story” and “Kelly’s Heroes” on August 29, 1971 as the Brielle Drive-In Theatre. Its phone number is reassigned to a NJ plumbing service not long after.
