This was the first Tara Theatre in the metropolitan Atlanta area. It apparently opened just prior to the release of “Gone with the Wind” in 1939. If you have any additional information regarding the Tara Theatre, please update.

The Tara was extensively remodeled and renovated in January 1938, so it must have been open for at least some time by that date.

It played the movie ESCAPE TO NOWHERE in 1975.Rated PG. IT showed at 2:45, 5:00, 7:30 and 9:40.It was on its 2nd week run.
