The New Lyric Theater in Liberty, NY opened as the Lyric Theater sometime before 1913. This theater was located in the Town & Country building which was built in the 1890’s. In 1913 a fire damaged the Lyric Theater. The theater was repaired and opened again in 1914 as the New Lyric Theater.
This theater showed silent movies and also had vaudeville acts and minstrel shows. Seating is given as 400-500 seats. The New Lyric closed around 1924 when the much larger Liberty Theater opened. This building still stands and to the best of my knowledge it is now an antique store.
