As of 1942, the Strand in Berlin was part of the Maine and New Hampshire Theatres Company circuit of Boston.

The Strand in Dover has a listing on Cinema Treasures. Click here for that listing.

Don’t you mean that you have listings for two theatres called Strand? The one in Dover had 991 seats, according to the 1945 Film Daily Year Book. At the time, it was being operated by one of the Paramount circuits.

I have two listings for the Strand: One is in Dover, NH on Third Street, old but still in operation, and one is in Berlin, NH now a bowling alley. Does anyone have any information on the theater in Dover?

This photo of the elegant auditorium was copied from a 1939 trade journal, which suggests that the Strand was either a newly built theatre or an older one that had just been modernized. Does anyone know? www.i8.photobucket.com/albums/a18/Warrengwhiz/strandnh.jpg
