The Odeon was opened on 8th June 1953, and was fully equipped for CinemaScope. The theatre was built on stilts, which allowed for a spacious car park beneath the building as well as additional parking at the rear. It was fully air-conditioned, and the cinema had a cry room for parents with babies. At the rear of the fully equipped stage, there were eight dressing rooms, all with showers.
The Odeon closed in 1983. Since then, the theater has been demolished and a new commercial building named Odeon Tower was erected on the site.
