The Liberty Theatre was opened prior to 1926. It was listed as (Closed) in 1933. Following renovations it was reopened November 22, 1939 as the Colony Theatre. No seat total is listed in the 1956 Film Daily Yearbook which may indicate that it was closed by this time.

Unless the news story is wrong, the Colony may also have been called the Liberty in silent film days. The Sunny Side Up Cafe is at 111 Main Street in Sayreville:
