The owners of the Highway 65 Drive-In in Buffalo, Missouri cannibalized the parts from that theater to build the Shooting Star in the mid 1990s. The Shooting Star lasted only a few years before closing for good.

The Shooting Star Drive-In was open for one year in 1997. The screen tower was purchased from the 65 Drive-In, the single screen Shooting Star had a car capacity of 250 cars. Today the screen tower is still there but out buildings have been constructed on the property.
