The Palace Theatre was originally a Vaudeville theatre, dating from at least the late 1920’s. It was operating as a movie theatre from 1931, and was one of five or six theatres located in the downtown section of Greensboro. The Palace Theatre was on East Market Street at Bennett Street and catered to African-American patrons. The theatre closed sometine in the early 1960’s and has since been demolished.
