The Aikahi opened in 1975 as a single screen theatre by Consolidated Theatres. Located in Kailua at the base of Diamond Head, it was twinned in 1985. The theater closed suddenly in August 2007.

This theater ‘quietly’ closed down either on the 30th, or on 23rd of August 2007.
So sorry to hear that another one has bit the dust.
Do you know who owns this theater? Or if they have plans to sell in the near future.
“ Located in Kailua at the base of Diamond Head"
and what island is it on? Jakarta?!
whuuuhuhuhu! Hilarious! who writes this stuff?
Kailua and Diamond Head are on opposite sides of the Island.
Thanks Bigbraddah, just met a guy from Diamond Head, here in Augusta,Georgia.Moved to be closer to the Grand Kids.I will pass on your post.LOl.
You can’t be from diamond head. Diamond Head is an extinct crater surrounded by a few communities. So, this guy lives… IN the crater?!
You can be from Honolulu. Or Kahala. Or Kaimuki. Or Kapahulu. (all surrounding towns) DH is not a city . Nor is it a town. WHO is spreading all this revisionist history and misinformation anyway?! And WHY would they do it!?
Maybe i misunderstood him,he could see Diamond Head from his house.Out of respect to JACK LORD I will not watch the new 5-0 TV show.
many people who reside in Honolulu can view some of Leahi crater from their home. This does not imply anyone or anything in Kailua, Lanikai, Kaneohe, or Hale'iwa is situated near DH.
Out of respect for parents teaching their teenagers to not lie, and decent communication, I will not watch any program with TIDE as their advertiser.
Getting back to Drive-ins I swear I saw an old Drive-in Theatre in an old episode of 5-0.Never had anyone to say they spotted it too.It is like They drove by it in the show chasing a crook..
