The final advertised show was on October 8, 1978 with Brooke Shields in “Pretty Baby,” Diane Keaton in “Looking for Mr. Goodbar,” and Sebastián Ligarde in “Survive!” The drive-in did not, however, closing and ultimately razed in July of 1982 for a new shopping center project.

By 1981, the Cantors had changed the name of their company to Priority Theaters. Besides this drive-in, Daniel and Joseph Cantor owned the Shadeland Outdoor, the South 31 Outdoor and the National Outdoor, all in Indianapolis.

It was still the Lafayette Road Outdoor Theater in 1963, so the change was sometime after that, apparently. This was part of the Cantor Theaters chain at that time.
