Lost Memorys photo looks pretty sad the theatre sitting there all alone.

I believe that this theatre and the Alpha Theatre were part of the Bach Theatres.

The American opened around 1930 as the Toyland Theatre.

Long gone, seems like it was used a warehouse for plumbing supplies into the 80’s, then torn down and replaced with a school of some sort.

The American Theatre is listed in the 1941 & 1943 editions of Film Daily Yearbook with a seating capacity of 300. In the 1950 edition of F.D.Y. the seating capacity is given as 390 and the address is as listed above.
