The Star Theatre was owned by Interstate Enterprises. It was an African-American theatre and operated from at least 1945. It closed in the late-1960’s.

It was converted into Tommy’s Garage. Today the building stands vacant.

I found where this theatre opened in 1950 and closed in 1969. As far as the address there is a conflict as to where this theatre and the Illex Theatre were located. The Star was built for African Americans that is pretty clear though.

If one is built on the main street and the other on a side street, then it is most likly that the side street would be the african american theatre.
