The Mayfield Theater opened in 1923. It is now abandoned looking from the outside, but the owner is cleaning up on the inside.

From the City of Cleveland site:
Designated as a Cleveland landmark. Built in 1923. Architect was D. Cefaratti. Aka New Mayfield Repertory Cinema.
I wonder what they’re going to do there? Back in the 1970s, it was the only commercial rep house in the Cleveland area. In addition to the films, it’s other claim to fame in those days was being the only theatre in the area with a wine list at the concession stand. What IS the correct wine to serve with popcorn and Twizzlers – red or white??
The famous wine conosouier, Seymour Drunks recommends white wine with popcorn and red wine with Twizzlers. Either would be appropriate with Good and Plenty. LOL
This is a recent close-up view of the Mayfield Theater.
Also know as the Old Mayfield Thatre and the last name the theatre had was the Mayfield Cinema

One of the last films shown at this theater (if not that last film) was Bob Guccione’s “Caligula”
Nice to know this theater still exists. Years ago it used to show old classics. Wasnt there another Mayfield theater in Mayfield Heights? I think that was why this was called the OLD Mayfield.
