The Brentwood closed in 1959 or 1960. It was operated by Florida State Theatres. An inspection of the inside of the building today will reveal the projection booth (with the port holes filled in) and the manager’s office. The marquee and poster frames are remnants of the old theatre.

This theater must have closed many years ago. According to the Jacksonville Public Library:

“May 25, 1961-Northside Branch, replacing Springfield Branch, dedicated in remodeled Brentwood Theatre Building at 3725 Pearl Street”. In case your wondering about the branch name being different, “February 9, 1992-Northside Branch renamed Brentwood Branch”.
