The photo linked above is the Cinema X in Dubuque, not the one in Ottumwa. The one in Ottumwa is very much still open, although it looks closed from the outside!

I believe some man in his 70s recently died in the theater. I probably don’t want to know the cause of death.
The manager was found dead just after opening time Tuesday Morning. Kenny McDaniel, 70, had run the theater since it opened. Police are investigating, and awaiting an autopsy, but Ken had serious health problems in recent years, and natural causes are suspected. It was estimated that he died Sunday evening, and was not found until Tuesday, since the theater was normally closed on Mondays.
