Opened as the De Villa Theater, a nickel show, in 1913. Renamed the New Twin City Theater in 1917, and again renamed the Chevwood Theater ten years later. The name “Chevwood” was a contraction of the names Cheviot and Westwood.

The Chevwood Theatre became a VFW hall, and by 2010, was in use as a sports clothing store.
