Opened on April 19, 1951 with the film “Jackpot”, starring Jimmy Stewart and Barbara Hale. Located on PA 837, ½ mile from its southern terminus at PA 88. Closed at the end of the 1985 season. The site remained dormant until 1997 when the Residence At Hilltop assisted living facility was built there.

Manos theatre chain adds a Valley drive-in
chain. It’s Hilltop Drive-In in Carroll Twp. which will open
officially under Manos operation next Wednesday, May 1.
The theatre was closed for the winter.
Records in Washington County courthouse reveal the property was acquired by Berlo Vending Co. of Delaware on March 4 at a sheriff’s sale for $1,994.51. The property was previously owned by Paul Delvitto of Penn.
In turn, Berlo Vending Co. has sold the theatre to Manos, although tbe transaction has not yet been recorded. Purchase price was not disclosed. The theatre will open with the recently named “best picture” of the year â€" “In the Heat of the Night,” starring “best actor” Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier. A co-feature will be the comedy “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming.” The Hilltop becomes the 22nd unit in the Manos theatre chain which extends throughout Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In the Valley the Coyle, State and Manos theatres are owned by Manos Enterprises, Inc. Manager of the Hilltop will be a Charleroi resident, Ken Haywood, a senior at Charleroi Area High School. Haywood has theatre operating experience having assisted Lewis Guidetti at the Coyle in Charleroi. The Hilltop will be open every night. “We hope to offer the public movies of quality,” commented Joseph Bugala, general manager of Manos Enterprises, Inc.
The capacity of the Hilltop was 200 cars. It was torn down and a retirement home built on the site.
In May 1965, the Valley Independent reports: At the Hilltop Drive-in, Carroll Township, “Strange Bedfellows” with Rock Hudson and Gina Lollabrigida. The cost was only $1.10 per carload.
