In operation from 1912 until 1929, this early little movie theater in the Wicker Park neighborhood was located on Milwaukee Avenue about midway between Division Street and Haddon Avenue.

This theater is still standing; Google Maps tends to have issues with diagonal streets in particular. The building is about 3 stories with a picture window on the second floor and a round bay on the third.
The Liberty Theater opened in 1912 and closed in 1929.
This is a 5/2/2000 photo of 1180 N Milwaukee Ave. There is a building at this address. Cook County Assessor’s Office:
Class: 5-91
Description : Commercial buildings over three stories
Estimated Building Sq. Ft: 9,932
Age: 118
Land Square Footage: 3,125
When I do a satellite view of Google maps for the 1180 address I see a parking lot, not a building there. I see buildings on either side at 1178 and 1184 but clearly there are cars parked in a parking lot where a building at 1180 or 1182 should be. Has 1180 been torn down since the photo Lost shows from 2000 was taken?
I think Google is showing the wrong building. On the Cook County parcel map, this building is 017 and the parking lot is 019 and 020. Try this link. Click on “View Property Map”. This address will be the red building.
Thanks for the clarification guys. I have updated the theater.
The building is currently home to “Young Chicago Authors” and “Metropolitan Tenants Organization” if anyone is trying to spot it.
