This little multiplex has gone under at least three different names and about as many remodeling/reconfigurations. The cinema was originally a twin when it was premiered by the Ajay Theatre circuit in 1976.

During the 1980s, both auditoriums were split and the theatre was renamed the Quartet. When Malco later took over the lease, the theatre was expanded to eight screens and rightly renamed the Cinema 8. The theatre closed in 2001.

This theater was last named the Malco Cinema 8. It was closed and later demolished. The only thing left is the original concrete slap it was built on.
