“Declining Attendance Forces Pittsburgh-Area Movie Theater to Close.
Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Jul. 23—The six-screen Harmar Cinemas, owned by Mulone Theatres, will close after business tomorrow night, a victim of declining attendance.
Its management team will be absorbed by other Mulone theaters and its hourly workers will be offered jobs as they open at the Waterworks, Cheswick and South Pike Cinemas locations.
“Over the last three or four years, we’ve remodeled theaters on both sides of it, and attendance has dropped off dramatically as a result,” Dennis Tafi, general manager of the Mulone theaters, said yesterday.
The Harmar opened in 1984, had roughly 1,350 seats and once was a leader in a number of areas, including the installation of the latest sound equipment for “Jurassic Park”.
It’s a shame this place closed. Wasn’t it under common management with the nearby Waterworks Cinema?
