Ortman Theatre

Viewing: Photo | Street View

The Electric Theatre was opened prior to 1914 and was closed in 1933. It was reopened as the Ortman Theatre in 1934. It was still open in 1950. After closing the building eventually became derelict and the roof caved in. It was demolished in 2008.

These modern photos would indicate that the Ortman Theatre was designed to resemble a nostaligic “Nickelodeon” theme;

According to roadsideoklahoma web site, there was once an Electric Nickelodeon located at 112 N. Main St. Wonder if the Electric and Ortman were one and same cinema?
