Sharpstown Center Cinemas was the last location opened in the Houston area by Cineplex Odeon, in the early 90’s. This was a moderately-successful location for a while, although it didn’t prove to be the shot-in-the-arm to bring back the dying mall. I’m sure that when AMC opened the Studio 30 on Dunvale that Sharpstown’s business would have declined significantly.

PCC closed the theatre because they were unable to turn a profit and there were concerns over the behavior of some theatre patrons.

Does anyone know anything about this location if the mall is still standing, or info about why the location failed..

The last operater of the theatre was Premiere Theatres. The theatre is closed and the header needs to be updated.

Not familiar with this one, but the correct zip for this address would be 77036.

Lost Memory, I found a July 1983 listing for Cineplex theatres that shows “Sharpson Center” opening in February 1983 with 12 cinemas with 1,688 seats, which would make this their 2nd US location (The first was Beverly Center in L. A.. Did it open at this time.

Dan Bonan, You must talking about Theatre Near You, Inc.
