Vintage color postcards show that the Main Street Cinema was built inside existing retail space. Exterior detailing was of Colonial Revival styling.
A rooftop theatre called the Garden Airdome was included, to be used during hot summer months when the downstairs cinema became too hot for occupancy. One 1914 newspaper article stated that the Garden Airdome was “lovely, tastefully decorated, with aromatic potted flowers”.

Newspaper ads have been found as far back as 1913, but this theatre most likely opened at an earlier date than that.

From the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor web site comes this c1915 postcard. In this view the Main Street Cinema can be seen left of the building with the giant roof flag. That yellow sign jutting out over the side-walk reads ‘Motion Pictures’.
Come 1930 Warner Bros. would build their massive Midwest Theatre to the right of the corner bldg.
