The Northloop was built by Presidio Theatres in 1980 or 81. It was 6 screens of various sizes. It was sold to Martin Theatres approximately 1984.

Presidio Theatres dominated the Austin area until the late 1987. Nice find, Lost Memory.

Mike….Northloop Six Theaters is now the LifePoint Church. From their website:

“Why is lifepoint church in an old theatre in the middle of town?

God gave us an incredible desire to renew and renovate the heart of this area. The loop is the heart of Gregg County and the surrounding area. The old north loop 6 theatre, while sitting in the heart of the area, had become a “throw away” in the community. We also believe that a lot of people feel that way about themselves. They believe that they are not worth anything to God and are “throw aways” in our culture. We felt God leading us to speak with our actions that this is not true. God desires us to know that everyone is truly valued by Him. Our desire it to be “in the neighborhood” of our community and in the marketplace has opened an opportunity to truly serve in the heart of Longview".

Looks like God saved another theater. :)

In the last years of it’s operation, Northloop Six operated as a dollar theater.
