Here is an aerial shot of the drive-in courtesy of www.historicaerials.com. This shows the drive-in as being on the corner of Stevens Ave and Turfwood Lane in Del Mar (near Via de la Valle). This lot is now a large housing complex, called “Triple Crown Del Mar”

According to the originating site, this aerial shot was taken in 1980.
Correction: The road is “Valley Ave” at this point. Further down it forks off to Stevens Ave.
To amplify LebowskiT1000’s note, HistoricAerials' 1967 photo of the site showed a drive-in under construction. It was intact through 1983, then razed in a 1984 photo.
