This three-screen cinema was able to screen 70mm films. It opened October 7, 1982.

The big screen could show 70mm and seated 547. The middle screen seated 425. The small screen seated 295. There was a weird smell in the small screen that I always associated with the movie “The Stuff”, and I would tell people the movie was in Smell-o-Rama.

mrjasyn: Do you remember what years the Ridge Square 3 was open? I don’t think there’s been a theater in Minnetonka since it closed.

It had to have opened sometime in the 70’s since I saw Star Wars there and it was fairly new. The last movie I remember seeing there was Thelma and Louise.

This opened on October 7th, 1982. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
