Edited from my May 27, 2021 post: The 62 Drive-In closed in 1987 after being sold by Commonwealth and was demolished later on. There was a massive error on the Walmart Locations Wiki saying that the Walmart at the theater’s site opened on September 1, 1976 but it’s wrong unfortunately. I think the Walmart relocated at the theater’s site after being demolished in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

Opened on 31/7/1969 with “Support your local sheriff” and “Yours, mine and ours”.

I had so much fun going to this drive-in as a child! It’s neat to see a picture :) Yes, it was located on Highway 62 where the Wal-Mart Supercenter is now.

It does make sense that the 62 Drive-In would be on Highway 62.

Here is a quick link toozarknature’s map.

The location listed for this drive-in is incorrect. The actual location was at the corner of U.S. Highway 62 and Finger Lane in west Fayetteville. The property was purchased by Walmart and is today the site of a Walmart Supercenter. Here is a link to a map I made to this location:

This Commonwealth circuit theater was designed, as usual, by Milton Costlow & Associates.

Opening was in July 1969, according to ads in the Northwest Arkansas Times. It was a Commonwealth theater at that time.

Per drive-ins.com, the theater has been razed and replaced by a Wal-Mart. Status should be closed/demolished.
