According to this article from the 6/18/07 Daily Iberian, the city of Franklin wants to convert the long-closed theater into an open-air two-story pavilion, for city festivals, farmers markets, wedding receptions, and other public and private functions. The city hopes the project will be finished by 2010.
This is the theater that was in the background of the movie Easy Rider, when they went through Franklin.
