Del Rio Theatre

The Del Rio Theatre was opened by 1930. A movie palace in miniature, many clever architectural details came together in the Del Rio Theatre design to create a "storybook" cinema. A multi-colour marquee, pinwheel neon, and tracer lighting put theatre goers in a gay carnival mood when approaching the festive Del Rio. It was still open in 1957. Since demolished, a bank is now on the site.

Looks as though the Del Rio was designed with “forced perspective” in order to make it appear much larger than it actually was.
