The Groveland Theater opened in 1914 as the Douglas Theater. The Douglas Theater was remodelled and reopened as the Groveland Theater. The Groveland Theater closed in 1929 and the theater building was eventually demolished in 1952.

A Kilgen theater organ opus 3735 was installed in the Groveland Theater in 1925.
