I remember going to The Howard for a great double-bill ( a thing of the past for sure) of King Kong and Might Joe Young.
There’s an old photo of the Howard Theatre at http://www.cinematour.com/tour/us/16489.html and it doesn’t look at all like what is there now. Apparently in the old photo it had been converted into a bowling alley.
Yeah, I know. But they assured me it was a theatre and a supermarket.
This building looks like a former garage or something rather than a theatre. It has a low ceiling, bricked-over windows in the walls, and no pilasters.
Exactly. Thank you.
Thanks. Even if your not interested in the theater organ itself, the installation date or year in this case can help establish some sort of a timeline. At least we know that this theater existed in 1928.
I love your organistic validations, Lost Memory.
An Austin theater organ opus 1605 size 3/7 was installed in the Howard Theater in 1928.
