Was the 8-screener an expansion of the original twin, or was the twin demolished to make way for an all-new build?

According to the story, the twin that opened in 1974 closed in 1986; the eight-screen complex opened on Dec. 18, 1987 and is still open.

The theatre should also have an AKA Cinema World. Carm ike was the last to operate this theatre and the screens should be 8. It is no longer showing up on the Carmike website.Washington Mall Cinemas. It is now being operated as an independent showing first run attractions. Here is their website

In 1975 it was being operated by Cinemette who was the dominant chain in Washington.

This opened as a twin cinema on December 25th, 1974.
