Matt, from what I cound find the Encore was located at the address that you listed and it closed in the 1950’s, as to the accuracy of the information I can’t be positive. Couldn’t find a date that it was demolished but the site is now a parking lot adjacent to the Dallas Police Dept. substation.
Never mind – I just checked and the Encore was at 4519 Maple. What did it become?
Chuck, do you have any info on this theatre that might possibly identify it as having originally been the Encore Theatre?

This link claims that the Ervay Theater was used as office space in 1999. Even more interesting is this info:
“Just south of downtown sits the Ervay Theater, the former home of Jack Ruby’s nightclub the Silver Spur”.
