The movie theaters operating at this time in Fort Wayne were the Jefferson, Strand, Grand, Hippodrome, Knitters, Creighton, Fairfield, Idle Hour, Wells Theater, Oprheum, and Transfer theaters. Vaudeville was the Palace, Lyric and Majestic. The Isis Theater in Kokomo is owned by the operators of the Orpheum in Fort Wayne and there are many Isis theaters in Indiana… but just see nothing abou this theater.

ISIS is the Egyptian goddess of fertility.

A Mighty WurliTizer Theater Pipe Organ, Opus 21, a 2 Manual/7 Rank was shipped to Fitzhugh & Hall AM CO in Rochester, New York on May 14, 1913. It was repossed, and shipped to this theater on December 16, 1916. Chimes were added on March 6, 1917. It was repossed and shipped to the Isis Theater, Lynchburg, Pennsylvania, on June 28, 1918. It was rebuilt as Opus 174. It is not known what happened to the organ. If you know anything about the organ, please email us!

“Gee Dad, it "WAS” a WurliTzer!"
