First opened as the single screen Chateau Theater on October 21, 1965. The theatre is located in the Plymouth Park Shopping Center on W. Irving Boulevard and Story Road. It was designed by architect J.N. McCammon of J.N. McCammon & Associates. Two additional screens were added in the 1970’s.
From 1998, it became the Everest Theater, screening East Indian movies.

Here is a 2001 review.
This theater, which was previously the independent 3 screen wonder, the Chateau, which had colors instead of numbers for its screens, is still open. The Everest shows only East Indian movies. The Chateau had a tough go of it and sometime in the 1980’s became a dollar theater. It became the Everest in 1998.
I recall the Chateau in the late 1960’s was a single screen theater, but in the 1970’s two additional small screens were added. It still had the one large screen on the north side of the main hall, and it had two small screens on the south side. Located In the Plymouth Park shopping center, n/w corner of Story road and Irving Blvd.
