The Twin Drive-In was located on Walden Avenue and Dick Road in Depew, NY, a suburb of Buffalo. It opened on June 24, 1955 with Dale Robertson in “Son of Sinbad” & James Mason in “2000 Leagues Under the Sea”. This drive-in was known basically to locals as the West and East Twins as the screens were opposite each other and the projection booths/concession stands were in the middle between the screens. It was closed in 1982.

A vivid childhood memory: My mom taking the family (Dad was working second shift) in 1970 to see BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES at the East Twin, most of which I missed because I was trying to sneak a peak in the rear view mirror at the movie playing behind us on the West Twin screen, Russ Meyer’s X-rated BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS.

Opened on 24/6/1955 on the east screen with 2 cartoons(not named) and “Son of Sinbad” on the west screen with 2 cartoons(not named) and “20000 leagues under the sea”. Closed in 1982. Demolished(date unknown?). The site is now Walden Development Center. The entrance road is still there(and possibly the marquee too?).
