Located in Coleford, Gloucestershire in the Royal Forest of Dean. Originally built in 1906 as a drill hall for the Coleford Volunteers. It was converted into a silent cinema in 1918, known as the Cinema. The original seating capacity was for 400, the proscenium was 25 feet wide and occasional variety shows were presented on the 18 feet deep stage. There are two dressing rooms. By 1951 it had been re-named Dean Cinema.
In 1979 a second screen was added with a seating capacity of 82. The main screen now seats 206. The Cinema was re-named Studio 1 & 2. The Studio Cinema continues today as an independently operated first run cinema. Operated by Circle Cinemas, it underwent a re-modeling and refurbishment in 2007.
