The Camden Theater was opened on July 19, 1935. It was located “half a block west of the Square on Highway 54”. The owner of the Camden Theater was Shields F. Wilson. The Camden Theater closed on May 23, 1942. The final attractions were “The Vanishing Virginian” and “A Missouri Outlaw”.

In his final ad in the Camdenton Reville newspaper, Mr. Wilson stated he had sold the theater and equipment, and that he and his wife were leaving Camdenton to pursue other interests. An article in the same issue of the paper revealed the theater had been sold to John White, who had opened the competing Jon’s Theater in December, 1941. The article stated that Mr. White was "undecided" as to whether to reopen the Camden Theater, but it appears he never did.

There is currently a row of buildings in the described location of the theater, but I am unsure whether the theater was located in this row, or in a previous building
