I’m 57, born & raised on the Island, and have no recollection of the Capitol.

It is still listed in the Film Daily Yearbook:1957 edition, but with no seating capacity shown (meaning it could have just closed)

does anyone know exactly when the theatre closed? i am 46, a lifelong s.i. resident and dont remember it being open in my youth..

The theatre was built in 1924.
