This small storefront theater was open from 1909-1914. After closing, it served as a hardware store for many years. In 1965, the space was home to 4M Upholstery, the first black service business in Chicago to receive relocation funds from urban renewal. It has since been demolished.

You may want to change the address above for the Auburn Theater. It should read “7835 S. Halsted St.”
