This theatre opened on June 11, 1999, by the newly formed Alliance Atlantis Cinemas (a joint venture between Famous Players and Alliance Atlantis). Its opening films include Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Run Lola Run, The Winslow Boy, Notting Hill, and Limbo. It has six screens, Dolby Digital in all cinemas, a cappuccino bar with gourmet coffee and Il Fornello’s gourmet pizza, a reading lounge, and an outdoor patio with live music. Basically, this theatre is unlike anything Toronto saw years prior.
Acquired by Cineplex in 2019, and is now known as The Beach Cinemas.
