The Roxy Theatre is the heart of Revelstoke. Operating as a theatre for over 70 years, it was originally built in 1905 as a hardware store at a cost of $20,000. In 1937, it was remodeled in an Art Deco style and opened as the Avolie Theatre; It was still the Avolie Theatre in 1943, but it isn’t known when it was renamed Roxy Theatre.

It is built in a manner that allows the theatre to run as both a movie theatre and a live performance theatre.

On Wickipedia I found an article that the Avolie was remodeled in 1965 and took on its new name of the Roxy. It listed seating at 449.
