Owned and operated by Carmike Cinemas. The theatre opened in the mid-1980’s as a multiplex with seven screens, and was the only theatre under the Carmike chain in North Raleigh. The Carmike 7 was the theatre that replaced the Cameron Village Twin, and also the Valley Twin, and the Terrace Twin(which was turned into a discount theatre)and the Falls Twin, which closed their doors forever under the management of Carmike Cinemas.
During the 1990’s, the theatre under went construction when the cinema expanded from seven screens to fifteen. Today, the theatre does excellent business and it is the only theatre in North Raleigh that is a megaplex under the Carmike chain.

I managed this theater for Carmike from December 1996 to January 1999, overseeing the expansion from 7 to 15 screens. We closed down for remodeling in Feb. of ‘98 with a target of reopening for July 4th weekend, but didn’t reopen until Christmas Eve! The nightmare reopening of this theater is what made me leave theater management and retreat back to just doing projection.
It was originally the Carmike Cinema 7 that opened on November 3,1989 was Raleigh’s first ever multiplex theatre under Carmike Cinemas. In fact, this theatre opened a week after the Pleasant Valley Promenade that opened the previous week.
