The All Star Factory is a twin-screen purpose built cinema that opened in October 2000. Seating capacities in the screens are for 152 and 88. It is the most Northerly cinema on the UK mainland.
Also within the building is a bowling alley, a bar/nightclub, restaurant and games room. The All Star Factory cinema was closed on 26th September 2009, but in late-2010, there were hopes of getting it re-opened.
It was re-opened in 2012 as the Thurso Cinema, but went into liquidation and closed in September 2015. It was taken over by Merlin Cinemas and re-opened in November 2015. In October 2021 three more screens were added in an expansion costing £500,000. They are located in the area of the former bowling alley and have 96, 87 & 39 seats. The opening coincided with the 21st anniversary of the opening of the building as a two-screen All Star Factory in October 2000.

I’ve never been this far north, but having surfed the net I’ve discovered it’s now open again with a new name, The Thurso Cinema.
