Grand Theater

The Grand Opera House was built in 1905. Around 1930 the Grand Opera House was converted into a motion picture theater and the name was changed to the Grand Theater. The Grand Theater remained in operation beyond 1950.

In 1956 it was a SETTOS THEATRE owned by George Settos.He had screens in Indiana,Ohio and Kentucky.

The Indiana Historical Society provides this early photo of Linton’s Grand Opera House. The theater was on the ground floor, the second floor was occupied by the Moose lodge, and the third floor had a ballroom.
