- Dec 17, 2009 — Varsity Theatre to get second screen
The Varsity Theater operated from 1921 to around 1949. The building was demolished and replaced by a store building.
A new Varsity Theater was built at 616 2nd Street, which still operates today, and has its own page on Cinema Treasures.

Oops. I mistakenly updated Street View to the location of the current Varsity Theatre. The original Varsity was on the same side of the street in the next block east, near the corner of F Street. There’s a one-storey shop building with a hipped roof there now.
