The Park Place was operating since at least 1997 (Howard Stern’s “Private Parts” played here first-run). It originally had 12 screens and slant-floor auditoriums. It was expanded to 16 screens and converted to all-stadium-seating by 2000.

Upon it’s opening in 1997,the Park Place was really the first REAL movie theatre that the small town of Morrisville had between Cary and the Research Triangle Park. It is the only multiplex in the town.

Now that the Galaxy Cinemas in Cary have closed their doors as of 11/10/2012…rumor has it that the Park Place 16 is getting some of this theatre’s business by expanding its showings to include “Bollywood” and “Foreign” films as well as first-run independent films.
