Owned and operated by Carmike Cinemas. the Park Place Cinema 16 was one of four Triangle theatres owned and operated under the Carmike Cinemas banner. The theatre is located at the intersection of Cary Parkway and Chapel Hill Road(State Highway 54)in the Park Place Shopping Center.

Opened in 2000.
The Park Place was operating since at least 1997 (Howard Stern’s “Private Parts” played here first-run). It originally had 12 screens and slant-floor auditoriums. It was expanded to 16 screens and converted to all-stadium-seating by 2000.
Upon it’s opening in 1997,the Park Place was really the first REAL movie theatre that the small town of Morrisville had between Cary and the Research Triangle Park. It is the only multiplex in the town.
