Located in the southeast London district of Charlton, in between Greenwich and Woolwich. The Charlton Picture Palace opened in 1915 on the north side of Woolwich road to west of Anchor & Hope Lane. By 1937 it had been re-named Playhouse Cinema. It was always independently operated.
Still listed in 1940, it had closed by 1944, a casualty of World War II conditions.
