This is a mystery Chuck. There is no seat count given for the Green Theater so I can’t use that for comparison. I don’t know what to make of this. Maybe the person that supplied the information to the Film Daily Yearbook didn’t speak good English and the name was interpreted as “Green” instead of Dream. LOL

LM, According to the Boller Brothers records the Dream was listed as the Dream from the beginning. I have no idea about the Green.
Their apcard #036.002 – Dream Theatre, owned by E.B. and Dale Danielson, completed and opened in 1934, remodel done in 1948.

Chuck….In 1951 there are two theaters listed for Russell, KS. The Dream Theater and the Mecca Theater. In 1955 only the Green Theater is listed. The address given for the Green Theater is 627 Main Street which is probably North Main Street. That address would place the Green Theater right next to the Dream Theater. Were there two theaters next to each other, or was the Dream Theater known as the Green Theater in 1955? I’m not adding the Green Theater without more information.

LM I am surprised the Dream Theatre didn’t show on the list, it has never been closed. The Mecca could have later been known as the Green Theatre. I know that the Mecca was closed by the 80’s.
Here is a photo of the Mecca from 1984.

In 1955 there is only one theater listed for Russell, KS and that is the Green Theater. I wonder if Green is another theater or a later name for the Mecca.
