I going to try and get Robin or Nick to print me a copy. I would love to have that framed. I ain’t much of a photo critic, but that shot just does something to me,that all these others[ drive in pics] have not done. Guess it is just me.

In regards to the fire, the Grand was the oldest of the indoor theatres and was open in 1930, but the owners listed are OK Theatres, Theatre Enterprises, Frontier Theatres and finally Commonwealth Theatres. There was no down time shown for the Grand. Seating was listed at 774. The Palace was open in the early thirties but that is all that I can find on the Palace. Maybe that was the one that was destroyed by fire.

Sam, there was a Ford Drive-In in Mc Camey but I can’t find any other info on it other than its name. Maybe Don Lewis can fill more info on it.

Not related to this particular drive-in but maybe someone can research this better than I could, but there was a fire in the theater in the town of McCamey, TX on July 4th, 1935 that severely burned the theater, and burnt the theater owner H. P. Priddy. Story here:

Wow, went through McCamey a couple of times last year, never even looked for the screen. McCamey does has some nice ruins of oil refineries, or pumping stations all over town though. Explored a few of them.

If the Circus was on 67, what are these 2 drive-ins located on 385 North of town? May be a twin, but strange layout for one if it was….
